This cooperation enables the exchange of both students and staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students from European universities that have signed an Erasmus Bilateral Agreement with the University of Rijeka may spend one or two semesters studying at our University. Rent is usually paid monthly in advance, but some landlords may require a deposit or several months in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The best time to look for accommodation is in August, early September, and February. It is recommended to obtain insurance in your home country that also covers your stay abroad. Students can use international health insurance from their home country or purchase a policy from a health insurance provider of their choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EU citizens, as well as citizens of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland, can apply for the <strong>European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)<\/strong> from their national healthcare institution before travelling to Croatia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The EHIC is issued free of charge and entitles holders to access medically necessary, state-provided healthcare during a temporary stay in another EU\/EEA country under the same conditions and at the same cost as people insured in that country. It covers only treatment necessary to allow you to continue your stay until your planned return home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> The EHIC is not a substitute for travel insurance. It does not cover private healthcare or services such as mountain rescue or repatriation. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to have both an EHIC and valid private travel insurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are <strong>three hospitals<\/strong> in different locations across Rijeka.
