Yesterday, on February 12, 2026, the kick-off meeting of the project team for the strategically important project “Impact of Climate Change and Adaptation Measures in the Republic of Croatia (KLIM-PRI)”<\/strong> was held at our Faculty. This meeting officially marked the beginning of the project implementation aimed at strengthening the resilience of Croatian urban and coastal areas to climate change, with a special focus on key sectors of tourism, health, and water resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The KLIM-PRI project is financed by non-refundable funds from the Competitiveness and Cohesion Programme 2021-2027. Within the project, an innovative methodology for climate risk assessment will be developed, proposals for concrete adaptation measures will be prepared, and a standardized protocol for systematic monitoring of changes in urban areas will be designed. Special attention will be paid to analyzing the vulnerability of critical infrastructure to heat waves, sea level rise, and extreme weather conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project leader is the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, and the partners are the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Rijeka, the City of Pula, and the City of Rijeka. The Tourist Board of the City of Pula, the Tourist Board of the City of Rijeka, and the Teaching Institute of Public Health of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County are also involved in the project as collaborators. The project coordinator is Prof. Zvonimira \u0160verko Grdi\u0107, PhD, and the project team members are Prof. Marinela Krstini\u0107 Ni\u017ei\u0107, PhD, Prof. Elena Rudan, PhD, and Assistant Sandra Kuki\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
