The Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management has fully met all the requirements set out in the programme guidelines and successfully renewed its status as an international Eco-Campus programme. With this recognition, our Eco-Campus joins the 22nd generation of Eco-Schools and Eco-Campuses in the Republic of Croatia, and after four years of successful programme implementation, we have renewed our status for the second time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The international recognition and Green Flag are awarded for outstanding achievements in the areas of environmental protection, sustainable development, and raising environmental awareness among students, employees, and the local community. FTHM remains the first constituent of the University of Rijeka to have received this prestigious recognition. This achievement is the result of the continuous dedication and commitment of all Faculty stakeholders, with particular recognition going to the students who, through the Eco Committee and various initiatives, apply their knowledge of sustainable development in practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A significant contribution was made by Jana Krivo\u0161i\u0107, Eco Committee Coordinator, whose engagement has yielded tangible results. Alongside the student contribution, a key role in the implementation of the programme has also been played by Prof. Marinela Krstini\u0107 Ni\u017ei\u0107, PhD, Vice Dean for Development and SDG Goals Commissioner at FTHM, and Assist. Prof. Ma\u0161a Trinajsti\u0107, PhD, Eco Committee associate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the many commendable activities, the Botanical Collection of FTHM stands out as a particularly notable project, a new educational and green space located in the Faculty courtyard. The project was initiated by students and members of the Eco Committee, and successfully coordinated by Jana Krivo\u0161i\u0107. A significant contribution was also made by student Erik \u0160tefanac, the originator of the idea. The Botanical Collection, enriched with native plant species donated by Croatian national parks and nature parks, has become an important space for outdoor learning, research, and raising awareness of the importance of nature conservation and biodiversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
