On July 28, 2026 the FTHM project team visited the pilot investments that will be implemented in Fano (Italy) and held an education for tourism stakeholders as part of the SITE – Shaping Inclusive Tourist Experiences project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit provided an opportunity to review the progress of pilot investments on Sassonia and Ponte Sasso beaches, two areas included in the pilot activities of the Municipality of Fano, to discuss the project solutions applied in these interventions and to strengthen local knowledge about accessible and inclusive tourism. The solutions on the pilot investments are designed to improve accessibility, orientation and overall use of the coastal area and to create safer and more pleasant public spaces for residents, people with disabilities, the elderly, families with children and anyone who might encounter difficulties moving around or using coastal public spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After visiting the pilot locations, the program continued in the MeMo center – Mediateca Montanari with a public event dedicated to accessible tourism, universal design and the restoration of coastal public spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second part of the event was dedicated to the education of tourism stakeholders. Experts from various partner organizations shared knowledge, terminology and practical examples related to inclusive tourism.
