As part of the Erasmus+ BET \u2013 Alliance for Skills, Sustainability, and Innovation in Emerging Tourism Types project, research was conducted to explore current and future competency needs in emerging forms of tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\ud83d\udcca Based on a survey, expert interviews, and an analysis of educational programmes, the findings reveal a significant gap between the perceived importance of specific competences and their actual presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The greatest needs were identified in the following areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\ud83d\udd39 sustainability and regenerative tourism
\ud83d\udd39 digital and technological skills for smart tourism
\ud83d\udd39 business innovation and market intelligence
\ud83d\udd39 resilience, risk and crisis management
\ud83d\udd39 social, creative and strategic thinking<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the same time, the research confirms a growing need for new professional profiles, such as the Sustainable Science Tourism Consultant, Digital Nomad Community Manager, and Metaverse Tourism Specialist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\ud83c\udf93 Participants particularly highlighted the importance of blended learning, practical work, project-based approaches, micro-credentials, and ECTS credits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These findings provide an important foundation for developing new competence frameworks, curricula, and educational programmes that respond to the needs of the future of tourism in Croatia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
