Through research, knowledge exchange and international cooperation, the project aims to identify new opportunities for strengthening the attractiveness and competitiveness of these destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Members of the CROCUS project team from the <strong>Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, University of Rijeka, Croatia<\/strong>, have actively participated in several scientific and professional conferences, sharing project results and highlighting opportunities for cultural and creative tourism development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>International Scientific and Professional Conference \u201cContinental Croatia: Historical Context, Current Issues and Future Perspectives\u201d<\/strong>, held in \u0110akovo, Croatia, on 24\u201325 September 2025. Prof. Zrinka Zadel presented the paper <em>\u201cCross-Border Cooperation in Tourism: A Conceptual Model for Tourism Destination Management.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ATLAS Annual Conference 2026 \u2013 \u201cCommunity, Collaboration and Co-creation in Times of Crisis\u201d<\/strong>, held in Leeds, United Kingdom, on 23\u201326 June 2026. Prof. Dora Smol\u010di\u0107 Jurdana and Prof. Elena Rudan participated with a presentation on <em>\u201eCreative tourism in rural areas: development of business model in a cross-border context\u201c.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>10th International Conference Vallis Aurea: Economics and Tourism<\/strong>, held in Po\u017eega, Croatia, on 17\u201318 September 2026. Prof. Elena Rudan, Prof. Zrinka Zadel and Prof. Dora Smol\u010di\u0107 Jurdana presented the paper <em>\u201cCreative Tourism Without Borders: Cross-Border Potentials of Rural Areas.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>4th Congress of Eco and Sustainable Tourism \u2013 Event Tourism<\/strong>, held at the Development Centre of Lika-Senj County in Gospi\u0107, Croatia, on 1\u20133 October 2026. Prof. Elena Rudan delivered a presentation entitled <em>\u201cThe Role of Events in Sustainable Tourism Development: How Can a Rural Event Simultaneously Preserve Heritage and Create Local Value?\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>8th World Congress of Education, <\/strong>held in Helsinki, Finland, 22-24 July 2026.
