Objectives and description
In this Blended intensive programme we would like to highlight most important objectives which relate to:
- To familiarise participants with the principles of socially responsible investing (SRI) and its importance in the context of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
- Examine the key elements of SRI, including environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria, and how they can be applied to assess MSME sustainability practices.
- Promote critical thinking and decision-making skills by engaging participants with case studies and real-life scenarios related to SRI in MSMEs.
Provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of fundamental financial planning concepts, including budgeting and cash flow management, working capital management, forecasting and financial projections, risk and debt management and profitability analysis
Methods and Learning Outcomes
Methods for Blended intensive programme titled Social Responsible Investing in MSME:
- Lectures and case studies: The aim is to engage participants in the topic of this blended intensive programme through face-to-face lectures and online presentations.
- Guest speaker: The aim is to invite a financial advisor from Erste Steiermaerkische Bank to share insights and experiences with participants and offer practical perspectives on financial planning.
- Simulations and role plays: Using business simulation software, virtual environments are created where participants can simulate financial decisions in a risk-free environment to improve their financial analysis and strategy formulation skills.
- Interactive online and on-site discussions during class: here participants can engage in peer-to-peer learning, share insights, ask questions, and discuss real-world examples on the topic of this blended intensive programme.
Learning outcomes after passing this programme:
- Participants will be able to identify the principles of financial planning and create tailor-made financial plans for the specific needs of MSMEs.
- Participants will be able to evaluate different investment strategies and financing options and make informed decisions that contribute to the growth and development of MSMEs.
- Participants will be able to identify financial risks associated with MSME operations and investments and have strategies to effectively mitigate these risks.
Participants will be able to demonstrate the importance of integrating ESG factors into financial decisions, leading to sustainable financial planning that is consistent with ESG objectives.
