Registration procedure for Future Students – undergraduate programmes
Enrollments for Future Students
Applications for undergraduate university studies at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management are submitted through the National Information System for Applications to Higher Education Institutions at www.postani-student.hr.
Applicants who completed their high school education abroad are not required to take the Croatian State Matura exams in order to enrol in higher education institutions.

All documents must be sent by priority mail unless stated otherwise:
- Request for recognition
- Proof of citizenship
- Proof of completion of all high school grades
- Final high school report card
- Proof of completion of an externally evaluated final exam (if applicable)
Candidates applying for the Business Economics in Tourism and Hospitality program, Hospitality Management module in English (tuition-based) must complete a Motivational Interview prior to enrollment. The interview is conducted at the Faculty.
Registration for the Motivational Interview must be completed via the link: MOTIVATION INTERVIEW APPLICATIONS – Fill out form.
After registering, the candidate will receive an invitation for an online interview. Without completing this requirement, the candidate cannot enroll in the Business Economics in Tourism and Hospitality program, Hospitality Management module in English. Interview dates will be announced later.
In accordance with the Senate decision of 16 December 2025, the University of Rijeka announces a CALL for enrolment in the 1st year of the study programmes taught in English for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Enrollment Procedure
Enrollments for university studies at the Faculty will be conducted after the final ranking list is published, through the online enrollment application (ISVURI system), which will be accessible on the following dates:

to July 17, 2026, at 12:00 PM
How to Prepare for Enrollment
- Log in to the system at www.postani-student.hr.
- Recognition of foreign high school qualifications
Applicants who completed their high school education outside Croatia must undergo the recognition procedure for their foreign qualification to be eligible for enrollment in undergraduate studies in Croatia. - Prepare the Required Enrollment Documentation:
A digital personal photograph (for the student ID)
A photograph of your signature (Take a photo of your personal photograph and sign underneath with a thin black marker. Save it to your computer, as you will need to upload this in section 2.1 of the digital enrollment application)

After the ranking list is published, you will receive an email from the Faculty with instructions for registering for digital enrollment. The registration link will become active the following day.
Important!
Candidates who have an email address ending with @skole.hr in the system must replace it with an email from another domain (e.g., @gmail.com) before the ranking list is locked. - On July 16, 2026, at 9:00 AM, the enrollment application will open. Access the digital application and complete all steps as instructed. You must complete the enrollment process by July 17, 2026, at 12:00 PM.

Entry requirements
- Candidate who has completed a relevant secondary education program lasting at least four years and have passed the Croatian State Matura exam.
- Candidate who completed a relevant secondary education program lasting at least four years in the Republic of Croatia before 2010, without the requirement of passing the Croatian State “Matura” exam.
- Candidate who has completed an equivalent education abroad.
For enrolment in the first year of study, the following criteria are evaluated:
- Success achieved during secondary school – up to 40%
- Success achieved on the Croatian State Matura exam – up to 60%, including:
Croatian language – up to 20%
Mathematics – up to 20% (Level B)
Foreign language – up to 20% (Level B) - State competitions – 5% (State competitions in all disciplines are evaluated for enrolment in the first year of study.)
- Categorized athlete (categories 1-6) – 5%
- Other special achievements – 5%*
- Prerequisite for Enrolment – Motivational Interview
The motivational interview in English language is a mandatory part of the selection process. The committee evaluates the applicants based on the interview. The motivational interview is an onsite or online discussion regarding the candidates’ motivations and interest in the field of business economics in tourism and hospitality, with a special emphasis on hotel management. This may include professional goals, attitudes towards a specific area, or the desire for personal development of each candidate.
Depending on the outcome of the motivational interview, candidates who meet the requirements will be ranked on the official list for enrolment in the study program.
The entry of results under items 1, 2, 3, and 4 into the NISpVU system (National Information System for Applications to Higher Education Institutions) is carried out by the Central Admissions Office.
Results under items 5 and 6 are entered directly by the Faculty.
Other special achievements
The Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management evaluates other special achievements during the selection process, allowing candidates to earn additional points as follows:
- International competitions in the fields of economics, tourism, and hospitality – 5%.
- Knowledge of a second foreign language has evaluated if the candidate studied it for at least three years in secondary school or at a language school (minimum level A2). The following foreign languages are assessed: English, German, French, and Italian – 5%.
- Completion of another four-year secondary school – 5%.
Candidates who are eligible to receive points based on the evaluation of special achievements must submit verified copies of the original documents to the Student Office of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management via email at studentska@fthm.hr by:
- July 6, 2026 – for the summer enrollment period
- September 11, 2026 – for the autumn enrollment period
Failure to submit the required documentation by the specified deadlines will result in the loss of the right to additional points.
Information on additional points awarded for other special achievements will be entered into the NISpVU system by the Faculty Coordinator for the National Information System for Applications.

- Create a priority list of study programs at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management.
- Motivational Interview – only for applicants applying for the Business Economics in Tourism and Hospitality, Hospitality Management module – study program in English.
- Publication of the final ranking list and assignment of the enrollment number for a specific study program (on www.postani-student.hr).
- Enrollment in the study program – enrollments at FMTU/FTHM are conducted online.
Motivational Interview – Applications
The Motivational Interview is only required for candidates applying for the study program:
Business Economics in Tourism and Hospitality, Hospitality Management module – in English.
The Motivational Interview is a mandatory part of the admission process.
Based on the interview, the Committee evaluates all candidates.
The Motivational Interview is an onsite or online conversation about the candidate’s motivation and interest in the field of business economics in tourism and hospitality, with a particular focus on hospitality management.
It may include questions related to professional goals, attitudes toward the field, and the candidate’s desire for personal and professional development.
Successful completion of the Motivational Interview grants the candidate the right to be ranked on the official ranking list for enrollment in the study program.
All interviews are conducted online in English.
Interview sessions will be held after candidates apply via the link, on dates that will be announced later.

Enrollment in the First Year of Study
Enrollments are conducted entirely online through the ISVURI enrollment web application, which will be available on the designated enrollment days.

After the publication of the final State Matura ranking list in the NISpVU system, candidates who have earned the right to enroll and received their enrollment number will receive, in their email inbox, a link for submitting enrollment documentation and detailed enrollment instructions on:
- July 15, 2026 (summer period), or
- September 16, 2026 (autumn period)
The link will be sent after 6:00 PM.
Candidates who registered an email address with the domain @skole.hr in the “Postani student” system are kindly requested to change it to an email with a different domain (e.g., @gmail.com) before enrollment.
A candidate who does not complete the enrollment process within the specified deadlines loses the right to enroll in the study program.

Students enrolling in a study program in Opatija are required to pay the enrolment costs and tuition fee.
Tuition and enrolment fees can be paid online through the FTHM tuition payment platform. Payment is fully online, with the option of a one‑time payment or instalments of up to six (6) monthly payments. Opportunity Costs
Candidates who have obtained the right to enrol in a study program at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management and who have been assigned an enrolment number through the National IT System for Higher Education Applications (NISpVU) are required to enrol within the prescribed deadlines.
If a candidate does not enrol in the study program for which they have obtained enrolment rights, or if they withdraw from the programme after enroling but before the start of the academic year, the Faculty shall charge them the opportunity cost of the unfilled enrolment place the Faculty will charge opportunity costs due to the unfilled enrolment place.

Deadlines for Preparation, Submission and Defence of the Bachelor’s Thesis – Academic year 2025-2026
The application of the thesis topic
The student submits the thesis topic application (for the winter and summer semester courses) to the mentor on the prescribed form “Registration of the Bachelor`s Thesis”.
The course leader confirms the acceptance of the thesis topic and supervision by sending the completed form via email to the Student Office no later than January 26, 2026.

- Health Care for Students
- The Public Health Institute of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County conducts mandatory medical check-ups for all first-year students of undergraduate studies in accordance with point 1.8.1 of the Health Care Measures Plan under mandatory health insurance (NN 126/06). Termination or Conclusion of Regular Education and Enrollment in Mandatory Health Insurance
A person who discontinues their regular education or loses their regular student right acquires the status of compulsory health insurance if they register with the Croatian Institute for Health Insurance within 30 days of losing their regular student right.
The same 30-day period for registering with the Croatian Health Insurance Fund also applies to persons completing regular education from the end of the school year in which they completed regular education in accordance with the regulations on regular education in the Republic of Croatia or another Member State, or within 30 days of passing the final exam.
After enrollment, the insured person is obliged to visit the Croatian Institute for Health Insurance in person every three months to verify the circumstances on the basis of which his/her status was determined. The Croatian Institute for Health Insurance shall officially deregister the insured person from compulsory health insurance without issuing a decision on the first day after the expiry of three months from the last personal registration with the Croatian Institute for Health Insurance.
The insured person is not obliged to report in person to the Croatian Institute for Health Insurance every three months as long as he or she is registered in the Croatian Employment Service.
