The Botanical Collection project continues to grow thanks to valuable donations and collaboration with Croatian protected areas. As a continuation of this green story, Kopački Rit Nature Park donated two significant plant species to the Faculty: white willow (Salix alba) and summer snowflake (Leucojum aestivum), which will further enrich the biodiversity of our collection.

On this occasion, on 15 April 2026, a working meeting was held at the Faculty with the aim of deepening cooperation between the two institutions. The meeting was attended by the Vice Dean for Development, Full Professor Marinela Krstinić Nižić, the coordinator of professional internships for Sustainable Development Management, Assistant Professor Maša Trinajstić, and the coordinator of the Eco Committee, Jana Krivošić. Representing Kopački Rit Nature Park were staff members from the expert service: agronomist Sonja Kučera and biologist Kristina Romanjek.

The main topic of the meeting focused on strengthening the institutional partnership, with particular emphasis on the potential realisation of professional internships for Faculty students at Kopački Rit Nature Park. This form of collaboration would provide students with invaluable hands-on experience in the management of protected areas and sustainable tourism, directly in the field.

The Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management hereby expresses its sincere gratitude to Sonja Kučera and Kristina Romanjek, as well as to the entire Kopački Rit Nature Park, for the valuable donation and their willingness to cooperate, which will undoubtedly bring numerous benefits to our students and the wider academic community.
