FTHM students at the “Green Destinations in Action: where theory becomes solutions” summer school in Eger, Hungary

Ten students from the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, accompanied by Jelena Đurkin Badurina, Hana Paleka and Daniela Soldić Frleta, took part in the international summer school “Green Destinations in Action: where theory becomes solutions”. Summer school was held from 11 to 15 May 2026 in Eger (Hungary), as part of the project “Enhancing Green Tourism Education in Higher Education through the Development of Alternative Learning Opportunities” (GreenTEA, ID 2023-1-HU01-KA220-HED-000156471). In total, 44 students from Croatia, Finland, Hungary and Portugal participated in the event.

The programme included theoretical lectures and collaborative sections focusing on green destination management, best practices in sustainable tourism. Jelena Đurkin Badurina, Hana Paleka and Daniela Soldić Frleta contributed as lecturers and sections’ moderators. The summer school also featured field trips to Lake Tisza and Bükk National Park Szilvásvárad, where participants were introduced to good practices in the sustainable management of protected areas and natural heritage.

Participation in the summer school strengthened international cooperation and enhanced FTHM students’ competences in the field of sustainable and green tourism.
