On Friday, June 27, Catheryn Khoo, a professor and researcher in tourism at Torrens University Australia, visited us and gave us a lecture on Publishing in leading English-language journals: Things you probably don’t want to hear.

The professor is the editor-in-chief of one of the world’s leading academic journals, Tourism Management Perspectives. She has been honoured with prestigious international awards, including Travel Weekly’s Women in Travel Awards 2023 and the Stevie Social Change Maker Silver Award 2024. She is also recognised as one of the world’s top 1% of women academics in the field of tourism and leisure. Her academic research work includes collaborations with tourism companies, government institutions, non-profit organisations, and UN Tourism, and she notably stands out as lead author of the Regional Report on Women in Tourism for UNWTO, as well as co-author of the Global Report on Women in Tourism (2019). She is the author of more than 100 international publications. She has also launched the global initiative Contested HERitage, which aims to challenge traditional historical narratives and promote inclusivity in the public sphere.

We want to thank the professor for a highly inspiring lecture!
