The Faculty participated in the largest camping fair CMT in Stuttgart, which this year counted 260,000 visitors and regularly gathers the top of the European tourism and camping industry. For the first time, seven students from our joint Master of Sustainable Outdoor Hospitality Management programme had the privilege and honour of participating in numerous high-profile events at this important fair.
Vita Kralj, a 2nd generation student, presented the PiNCamp project developed by the students during the semester in Breda at a symposium organised by ADAC, while together with the first generation student, Danica Bošnjak, they presented their projects at the leading Camping Europe conference to the owners and directors of the forty best campsites in Europe. Many thanks to leading, ADAC – PinCamp, ANWBU, Vacanze col Cuore and ACSI for supporting young talents. The students were also invited to the award ceremony at Europe’s best camps PinCamp (ADAC, ANWB and TSC – the three largest European automobile clubs). In two juries (one from ANWB and ADAC) for the award of the best campsite in Europe this year, was also the head of the study programme at FTHM, Assistant professor Josipa Cvelić – Bonifačić, PhD. Many thanks to the organisers for making it possible for our students to participate in the most prestigious event in the camping world. Congratulations to all the winners!
On the next day of the fair, the students visited the Croatian and Slovenian stands. The director of Camping Navigator invited them for lunch and pointed out the secret camping marketing that this company successfully deals with. We were welcomed by our partner, who for the third year in a row has provided a scholarship of 5,000 euros for a student of this study programme, the luxury camper company Cartago – Malibu.
The students had an interesting look at the latest motorhomes and listened to a presentation on the business of motorhome manufacturers. A special honour was bestowed on our students when leading camping companies invited them to their celebratory dinner with the press. Our students were divided among various guests, which gave them the opportunity to interact with the owners of the best camps as well as media representatives. Full of new offers for professional practise and rich in impressions, we returned to the University of Breda, where the students will complete the first semester and attend the second semester at FTHM in Ika in mid-February.
