on 17 February 2025, the 2nd semester of the joint graduate study “Master of Sustainable Outdoor Hospitality Management“, which is run jointly by 3 partner universities in Breda, the Netherlands, Girona, Spain and our Faculty, began at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management.

This is the second generation of international students who have opted for this unique Master’s programme, which is unparalleled in the European Union and beyond. This year’s generation of students comes from China, Iran, Belgium, Spain and Croatia.

They have a common desire to learn in an international environment and acquire knowledge and skills that will enable them to successfully and sustainably operate any form of outdoor hospitality in the future and make a good contribution to the development of sustainable tourism in the destination.

The study lasts 18 months, is run at three universities in three countries and students receive three degrees on completion. The camping industry strongly supports this study by providing scholarships and the opportunity to practise throughout Europe.

This summer semester, students in Opatija will have the opportunity to attend lectures on management, organisation, sales and customer relations as well as on the sustainable development of camps, quality and management reporting. In addition to the distinguished professors of the Faculty for students, field classes have been organised at Camp Ježevac on the island of Krk and 4 study trips, during which they will get to know a total of 20 camps in Croatia, Italy and Slovenia. In addition to the professors from the Faculty of Opatija, 30 guest lectures have been organised by camping tourism professionals from the best-known organisations and companies involved in outdoor hospitality in Europe today.

After the semester in Opatija, students practise in the summer at some of the best camps in Europe or with specialised partners from the camping tourism industry.
