The joint university graduate study programme is a joint programme of two partners: the Faculty of Economics of the University of Sarajevo and the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management of the University of Rijeka. It is organised as a higher education programme in the Republic of Croatia, i.e. as a second cycle/master’s programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The aim of the study programme is to provide students with modern theoretical and practically applicable knowledge and skills necessary for performing professional tasks in the field of tourism and hospitality, as well as to continue their education in the European educational area.

Enrolment requirements
The Joint University Graduate Studies (Master) in Tourism is open to enrolment for:
- Applicants who have completed an undergraduate university degree in the field of economics and have obtained at least 180 ECTS.
- Applicants who have completed an undergraduate university degree in the field of economics.
Applicants who have completed a non-economics higher education programme must also pass the bridging exams set by the Commission, based on an overview of the educational programme the applicant has followed in his/her previous education. After passing all the bridging exams and immediately before enrolment, the applicant will be included in the ranking list, where he/she will be ranked according to the learning outcomes achieved.
The aim of the study programme
To train students for jobs in management, research and practise in companies directly or indirectly involved in tourism and hospitality (hotel companies, tourist boards, travel agencies, associations, marketing agencies, etc.).
Possibility of employment
The programme of this graduate degree is designed to provide relevant knowledge for the performance of management functions in the tourism sector. This Master of Economics profile will be able to fill important positions in tourist boards, tourism organisations, travel agencies, tourism associations, in the hotel industry, in the catering industry, but also in education, in the communal services, in the media, in all selective forms of tourism offer and in supporting industries where specific knowledge from the field of tourism is required.
Academic title or degree after completion of the study programme
Upon completion of the joint study programme, the academic title of Master of Economics (univ. mag. oec.) is acquired in the Republic of Croatia and Master of Management/Tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Possibility to continue studies
After completing this university study programme, students have the possibility to enrol in doctoral studies or one of the forms of university specialised studies, i.e. lifelong learning programmes at the Faculty of Management in Tourism and Hospitality, at the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo and at other higher education institutions.
