The study programme Management in Tourism has been designed taking into account the trends in the tourism market and the UNWTO guidelines. Special attention is given to selective forms of tourism and their role at the global level, the development and role of tourism in the world economy, the vision of tourism, indicators for monitoring results and promotional activities.
Emphasis is placed on bringing the teaching content closer to the new tourism policy, with the aim of providing a basis for securing the competitive advantage of the tourism offer of destinations in line with global trends. To this end, the programme content is clearly shaped by the specifics of tourism activity in line with modern trends in tourism development.
Upon completion of the Bachelor’s programme in Management in Tourism, opportunities for employment are open, as the programme is designed to ensure relevant and specific knowledge, skills and competences in the field of tourism and tourism policy management.

The aim of the study programme
The aim of the study programme is to train students for senior positions in the management of tourism destinations, events and leisure.
Competences acquired upon completion of the study programme
- Mastery of knowledge in the field of tourism and management in tourism
- The ability to research trends and improve business models in tourism.
- The ability to manage a destination involving all stakeholders in the tourism offer.
- Independent management of business processes at the level of a destination.
- The ability to monitor and apply laws and standards in the tourism business.
- The ability to apply information and communication technology in business.
- The ability to take responsibility in a team and personally for the preparation of project proposals and the implementation of the project idea.
- The ability to monitor and evaluate key indicators in the tourism business.
Upon completion of this programme, students will develop general competencies such as the ability to think abstractly, think critically, develop new ideas, identify and solve problems, plan and manage time, continuously improve, work independently and other skills.
Possibility of employment
The programme is designed to provide relevant knowledge for the performance of top level management functions in the tourism sector, which need to be developed in modern conditions in line with the trends in tourism development. Masters of Economics will therefore be able to occupy important positions in tourism communities, tourism organisations, travel agencies, tourism associations, education, the communal services, the media, all selective forms of tourism supply, supporting industries, financial institutions, accounting and control services, inspection and monitoring bodies where specific knowledge in the field of tourism is required.

Possibility to continue studies
After completing this degree, students have the option of enrolling in doctoral studies or one of the forms of university specialised studies, i.e. lifelong learning programmes.
