THE QUALITY POLICY
The Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management of the University of Rijeka is a significant scientific-educational institution particular for its scientific-research and teaching activities in the field of economics with application to tourism, hospitality, and sustainable development. The Faculty in accordance with its mission, vision and goals, national laws (Act on Scientific Activity and Higher Education and Act on Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education) and international standards for higher education (The Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education) is continuously and systematically improving the quality and efficiency of their educational, scientific-research, and professional activities.
Key values in achieving excellence are the focus on the demands of students, employees, future employers, and of society by providing high quality services. With the aim of achieving, maintaining, and empowering of these values while respecting the principles of ethics and social responsibility we are permanently committed to:
- To develop and improve quality assurance systems based on the standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European higher education area, national, university, and college criteria and standards by promoting the activities of all organizational units of the faculty, and actively encouraging involvement of students in the system of quality assurance.
- Continuously monitor and improve educational, scientific-research, and professional activities in order to ensure the perpetual growth of the quality and competitiveness of teaching, scientific, and professional work.
- To strengthen cooperation with international and foreign scientific and higher education institutions as a prerequisite for the active participation of the faculty in both domestic and international projects, greater mobility of the teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and students, to develop joint educational programs and other forms of cooperation.
- Continuously and systematically monitor the effectiveness of the studies and undertake activities for its improvement.
- To develop partnership relations of the faculty and students, to act on improvement of student standards and create conditions for promotion of social activities of the students.
- To encourage active involvement of the faculty in development of economy, wider community, and institutions of civil society through the implementation of scientific and technical projects striving to be an active partner and to support economic development.
- Create a stimulating and creative working environment for all workers and to promote a culture of quality assurance at the faculty (university).
- To encourage changes in organization of all processes in the faculty, taking into consideration the requirements of all participants.
- Continuously monitor the satisfaction of participants with the aim to increase their levels of satisfaction.
- Apply and improve effectiveness of the quality management system in compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.
- Ensure transparency, responsibility, and professionalism in all activities of the faculty.
