County prefect Ivica Lukanović visits FTHM

Yesterday, we welcomed Ivica Lukanović, Prefect of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, and his associates to the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management in Opatija. On this occasion, Dean Professor Marko Perić, PhD, presented the Faculty’s key development priorities and activities. With more than 65 years of experience in educating tourism and hospitality professionals, the Faculty currently has approximately 1,600 students. Particular emphasis was placed on research, international cooperation, and EU and professional projects through which the Faculty actively contributes to the development of tourism and the economy of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

The initiatives presented included the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Tourism Development Plan to 2030, the Tourism Development Action Plan to 2027, the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Gastronomy Development Action Plan, and projects focused on sustainable tourism destination management.

County Prefect Lukanović’s visit provided an opportunity to showcase our Faculty’s educational, research and professional expertise, as well as its contribution to the development of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.
