On Friday, 24 April 2026, full-time students of the graduate study programmes Management in Tourism and Management in Hospitality participated in a field trip in the Municipality of Vrsar. The field trip was organised as part of the courses Tourism Attraction Management and Tourism and the Local Community, under the guidance of course leaders Ivana Ivančić and Jelena Đurkin Badurina.

The programme began with a welcome address by Ivana Maružin Mrzlić, Director of the Kanfanar Tourist Board, followed by a boat trip through the Lim Channel, which offered students a distinctive opportunity to learn about this special marine reserve and significant landscape.

In Vrsar, Dr Klara Trošt Lesić, Director of the Vrsar Tourist Board, led the group on an inspiring guided tour, presenting concrete examples of destination management and event organisation. After visiting the old town of Vrsar and its viewpoints, the group continued to the More-More Visitor Centre, where Rosana Giusti introduced the Centre’s exhibition and its innovative approach to interpreting life in and by the sea.

A particularly memorable experience was learning about the tradition of making Vrsar amaretti and their importance for Vrsar’s identity through a workshop and tasting led by Mrs Barica Pisak, representative of the Italian Community of Vrsar – Comunità degli Italiani di Orsera.

In the afternoon, the students visited Koversada campsite, organised by Tea Vranić, Assistant Director for the Campsites Division at Maistra d.d.

Through a guided tour and discussion with the Camp Director, Mrs Sanja Šćulac, Assistant Director Karmen Gašparini, Reception Manager Kateryna Skorikova, Camp Host Larisa Ikić, and Food and Beverage Manager Natko Marić Drvoličanin, the students gained insight into the challenges of operating a large campsite, as well as into future development plans, investments, and the repositioning of Koversada’s tourism product.

This field trip enriched the students with new knowledge, experiences, and impressions. We sincerely thank all partners from the Vrsar area for their hospitality, as well as for the time and effort they invested in making this field trip special and memorable.
