Students of our Faculty participated on 26 and 27 November 2025 in the Hackathon “Inclusive Tourism for Everyone” in Trieste, held as part of the SITE project, funded by the Interreg Italy–Croatia programme. The Hackathon was organised by the University of Trieste as the main partner, and under the patronage of the City of Trieste, Promo Turismo FVG, Istituto Nazionale Urbanistica, and the CRIBA FVG association.
Working in international teams, the students spent 10 hours developing innovative solutions that link information on the accessibility of tourism services with the promotion of universal design in tourism.
After the presentations, the three best solutions were awarded cash prizes, and the winning team also received mentoring support for further development of their idea, as well as free participation in the final SITE project conference in Opatija: https://fthm.uniri.hr/en/research/conferences/sitecon/
The creative young participants took an important step towards greater inclusion and accessibility in tourism, and the awarded solutions will be presented soon. Our Faculty’s students distinguished themselves with their commitment in the teams and their presentation skills, with special congratulations going to:
Student Lucija Oštarić, member of the first-prize team
Student Jana Krivošić, member of the second-prize team
Student Korina Zorić, member of the third-prize team
