Graduation ceremonies were held at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management on Friday, 22 May 2026, for students who successfully completed their studies in the 2024/2025 academic year.
The ceremonies took place in the beautiful setting of the Faculty park in Ika, where numerous students, members of their families, friends, and representatives of the academic community gathered to mark this important occasion together.
At the beginning of the ceremony, those present were addressed by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Marko Perić, PhD, who welcomed the students and emphasized that the completion of their studies represents an important step in their personal and professional development, as well as their readiness to apply the knowledge they have acquired in practice and contribute to the development of the economy and society as a whole.
The event was also attended by the Mayor of Opatija, Mr Fernando Kirigin, who congratulated the graduates on their achievements and wished them success in their further education and careers.
During the ceremonies, university bachelors of economics who completed the undergraduate studies Business Economics in Tourism and Hospitality and Sustainable Development Management were formally promoted, as were university masters of economics from the graduate studies Tourism Marketing, Tourism Management, Hospitality Management, and Sustainable Tourism Development.
Special awards were presented to the most successful students who distinguished themselves during their studies through outstanding academic results. At the undergraduate level, these were: Nina Mrakovčić, Ema Žegarac, Patricia Mikšić, Marija Mežnarić, Fani Kinkela, and Stefani Križanac, while at the graduate level the most successful students were: Nina Mezak, Mateja Križanić, Endy Terlević, Nikolina Domitrović, Ana Marija Lesica, Dejana Raković, Ivan William Požega, Petra Lanča, Bruno Cvitanić, Petra Sever, Lovro Bebek, and Luka Žanić.
On behalf of the students, Nina Mrakovčić and Nina Mezak addressed the audience, expressing their gratitude to the professors and staff of the Faculty, and especially to their families for their continuous support throughout their studies. In their speeches, they emphasized that the completion of their studies represents an important life milestone and entry into a new phase of professional and personal challenges, while highlighting the value of shared experiences, friendships, and memories that the graduates will carry with them in their future lives and careers.
The programme was further enriched by a musical performance by the duo “Lucija & Luka”, consisting of Faculty student Lucija Stipanović and Luka Lukačević on the piano.
After the official part of the ceremony, a reception with sparkling wine and refreshments was organized in the Faculty park, where the graduates and their guests had the opportunity to celebrate this important life moment in a relaxed atmosphere.
We sincerely congratulate all students on their achievements and wish them much happiness and success in the future. We are confident that the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies will provide a solid foundation for their professional and personal challenges, and that they will proudly represent our Faculty.
