As part of the MARINET project, the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management participated in the Italian Oyster Fest held in La Spezia from 22 to 24 May 2026. The event was attended by Prof. Greta Krešić, PhD, Elena Dujmić, Jelena Kapeš and Mia Sokolović.
During the festival, the Good Aquafood marketing campaign was presented, aimed at raising awareness of the nutritional quality, safety and sustainability of aquaculture products. Campaign activities included its promotion and an aquaculture knowledge quiz, in which visitors had the opportunity to test their knowledge, with the most successful participants receiving prizes. As part of the programme, a guided oyster tasting was also organised, during which visitors had the opportunity to taste oysters and learn about their characteristics and consumption practices.
Within the programme, a MARINET workshop titled “Flat oyster production and integrated mariculture for biosecurity, sustainability and competitiveness in the Adriatic” was also held.
These activities contribute to the key objectives of the MARINET project and further strengthen international visibility and cooperation in the field of sustainable aquaculture.
