The Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management welcomed its incoming exchange students with an Orientation Day marking the beginning of the winter semester 2026/2027.
This semester, 44 international students from 15 countries have joined FMTU for either one semester or the full academic year through different international mobility programmes. Their arrival once again reflects the importance of international mobility, cooperation and intercultural exchange within our academic community.
The students were welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Siniša Bogdan, PhD, Vice-Dean for International Cooperation, and Jasna Lasinger Silađev from the Centre for International Cooperation, who wished them a successful start to their studies, many valuable academic and personal experiences, and above all, a sense of belonging during their time at FMTU.
During Orientation Day, students were introduced to the Faculty, the organisation of their studies and the practical steps needed to begin their semester successfully. An exchange experience is about much more than studying. It is also about discovering new places, meeting new people and becoming part of a different culture. We therefore encouraged our students to explore Opatija, Rijeka, Lovran and the wider Kvarner region, and to make their time in Croatia a semester filled with learning, travel, friendships and unforgettable memories.
