Representatives of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management Recognized at the 53rd Dies Academicus of the University of Rijeka

At the ceremonial session of the Senate held on the occasion of the 53rd Dies Academicus of the University of Rijeka, on 20 May 2026 at the Gervais Centre in Opatija, awards and recognitions were presented to students, teachers, alumni and University employees who distinguished themselves through their work, achievements and contribution to the academic community. The presentation of awards was the central part of the ceremony through which the University of Rijeka marks its day and highlights excellence in teaching, scientific, professional and student work.

Among this year’s award recipients were also representatives of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management. Recognitions for the quality of teaching were awarded to Prof. Kristina Črnjar, PhD, and Romina Agbaba, PhD, senior assistant, who received the Teaching Excellence Award. The award is presented to teachers who achieved particularly high scores in student surveys, thereby confirming their quality, dedication and success in the teaching process. The awards were presented by Prof. Goran Hauser, PhD, Rector of the University of Rijeka. Nika Miloslavić, a fourth-year student of the university undergraduate study programme Business Economics in Tourism and Hospitality, received the Rector’s Award for Excellence.

Congratulations to the award-winning representatives of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management were extended by Dean Prof. Marko Perić, PhD, and Vice-Rector for Finance and Business Operations Prof. Sandra Janković, PhD, who emphasized the importance of academic excellence, dedicated teaching work and student achievements for the further development of the Faculty and the University.
