Start of second Semester: more than 40 national and international guest-speakers and experts from the field

On Monday, March 4th, at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, first-generation of students of the first European Master of Sustainable Outdoor Hospitality Management program were welcomed in Opatija, after completing the first semester at Breda College of Applied Science.

The students were welcomed by the Dean, Prof. Marko Perić Ph.D, the head of the program: Josipa Cvelić Bonifačić Ph.D., and the lecturers of the program: Prof.  Ana-Marija Vrtodušić Hrgović, prof. Marinela Krstinić Nižić and Jasna Lasinger Silađev from the Center for International Cooperation.

After the tour of the college, the first lecturers onsite start. In this second Semester, in addition to the regular lecturers from Faculty experts, there will be over 30 guest lecturers from national and international professionals in the fields including partners of the program such as emerald partner: CHARTAGO-MALIBU and golden partners such as ADAC, ANWB, ACSI and Vacanze col Cuore.

Already in the first week, students were introduced to different organizations and topics:  more international guest-lecturers participated in the study program, such as: Uwe Frers, Director of ADAC Pincamp – the largest automobile club in the world, Ward Wijngaert – Business Developer at Yelloh! Village group from France, Simone Pokrand – Director of the Leading Camping Europe, Martin Rolletschek – Environmental and Energy Consultant Ecocamping, Adriano Palman – Director of the Croatian Camping Association, and Laura Tosso Andreu, director from Camping Association Girona-Costa Brava.

Also, Romana Lekić from Barnays Faculty in Zagreb teaches about the Economy of experience and Nataša Kovačić Stilinović, HR manager of Hilton Costabella Resort teaches students about Human Capital in outdoor hospitality.

In the next week, SOHM students will have the opportunity to learn from  more eminent guest speakers such as Beatriz Santos, president fo EFCO, Jaap van der Linden, director of ANWB,  Johannes Schurle, marketing director from Chartago-Malibu,  Nika Moric, from Slovenian camping association and Alessandro van der Loo from the camping chain Vacanze col Cuore.

During this summer semester in Croatia, the students will work in camping resorts in Croatia on sustainable business challenges in the areas of park design, stakeholder engagement, human resource management, concept design, and strategic management.

On Monday, March 11th, students will visit two extraordinary camping sites: Camping Plitvice 5* and Plitvice Holiday Resort 4*. During all camping visits students have to accomplish different assignments connected with management, operations, sales, sustainable development, or reporting.
