In the period from April 22 to 26, FTHM students and staff participated in the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) within the Erasmus+ programme, called Travel Tech, which was held in Vilnius, Lithuania.

In addition to FTHM students, BIP was also attended by students and professors from Finland, Portugal and Lithuania. The programme was focused on the integration of technological innovations in the tourism industry, where students had the opportunity to work on real projects and solve current challenges. During the five-day intensive programme, students developed new ideas and concepts through workshops, lectures and practical activities. Cooperation between students, professors and practitioners enabled the exchange of knowledge and experiences, and the stimulation of creative thinking and teamwork. Special emphasis is placed on the use of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data in the creation of innovative tourism products.

Our students Mario Đaković, Luka Gregur, Deborah Milokanović, Toni Mohorić, Renato Surla and Ema Žegarac won the prize for the best and most creative project in the field of tourism, called Virtual Vanguard.

Accompanying our students were prof. Ph.D. Kristina Črnjar and assistant Vedrana Čikeš. Assistant Čikeš held an interactive lecture on Challenges in the modernization of Croatian tourism, where she reflected on the challenges that today’s tourism in Croatia is facing. As answers to the problem, the students proposed creative and interesting solutions.

This experience not only provided students with the opportunity for hands-on learning, but also helped create professional connections and networks that they will use in their future careers. We congratulate our students and thank the partner of Vilniaus course, Faculty of Business Management for the invitation to participate!
