About study program
The first European joint professional graduate study in the field of hotel management and camp management, combining theory and practise, offered at universities in the Netherlands, Croatia and Spain.
The demand for outdoor accommodation is growing rapidly in Europe and requires highly qualified professionals who are able to manage the business well in collaboration with local authorities, who also play a key role in the sustainable development of the destination. For this reason, the University of Breda, BUas (Netherlands), the University of Girona, UdG (Spain) and the University of Rijeka (Croatia), Faculty of Management in Tourism and Hospitality, have developed this new multiprofessional diploma course focused on the strategic management of large camping facilities.
It is a unique study model in English, where students study in three countries in an international environment and have the possibility to choose another country for their practise. Upon completion of the programme, students receive 3 international diplomas from three universities and 120 ECTS.
Applications for the first European joint professional graduate study Master of Sustainable Outdoor Hospitality Management programme are open until June 15 for non-EU countries and August 15 for EU students. Applicants are expected to be motivated, have 180 ECTS credits from a bachelor’s degree and a good knowledge of the English language.

Study at three locations in Europe
Students attend lectures at the University of Applied Sciences Breda in the Netherlands. Breda is a beautiful and lively city in the south of the Netherlands that offers modern teaching methods but also many activities for students.
In the second semester, students transfer to the University of Rijeka in Croatia to the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management. Kvarner and closer Istria are the two most developed tourist regions in Croatia with strong hotel and outdoor accommodation structures. Rijeka, as a major city close to the Austro-Hungarian resort of Opatija, offers students the best possible environment to live, feel and learn about tourism and outdoor hospitality. He will also work at camping resorts in Croatia on sustainable business challenges in park design, stakeholder engagement, human resource management, conceptual design and strategic management. After the second semester ends before summer, students can still find a summer job.
In the second year, during the third semester, students transfer to the University of Girona (Spain) to deepen their academic and business knowledge. The historic city of Girona is not only the most interesting city to study and live in, it is also close to some of the best European campsites on the Catalan coast.
During the final semester, students will not only write a selected thesis, but also work as interns and develop a field research project in an important European outdoor tourism region. The mentoring programme will allow them to deepen their practical skills and knowledge.
