The course objective
- Developing basic linguistic and cultural competences for the purposes of communicating in gastronomy.
- Developing linguistic skills (reading comprehension, speaking and writing skills) at a basic level, adapted for the gastronomy industry.
Highlights
- present (through a PPT presentation) historical outlines of French gastronomy
- present (through a PPT presentation) Croatian gastronomic profile
- make attendants familiar with the most popular regional gastronomic heritage
- simulate a guiding tour both within the field and onsite classes
- final exam (written and oral)

| Day 2 | 4 hours | Preparing participants for an individual course assignment – presentation of the project assignment Historical and social background influencing Croatian cuisine: Kvarner region – the city of Rijeka |
| Day 3 | 7 hours | A guiding tour – Rijeka Presenting open market (diary, meat and fish pavilion) Visiting fish restaurant (lunch break): Mediterranean cuisine from Croatian perspective Students simulate a guiding tour supported by a professional guide |
| Day 4 | 3 hours | Mediterranean perspective of gastronomy: research results made by participants Final exam |
| Day 5 | 12 hours | Field trip (wine tasting in Poreč and Motovun) |
